Shri Laxmi Rice Mill

Our mill is located at No. 22/53 in the Rajghat area, not too far from the Gita Press Road. It’s a part of town that’s been around for a long time, and we’ve been part of it too. Being near such a well-known road makes it easy for people to find us. We mostly deal with rice, processing it through the equipment we have set up in the back. The building is a bit cramped compared to the ones out in the country, but we make use of every inch of space we have. There’s always a bit of rice husk in the air, so we keep the fans going. Our crew is small, mostly just a handful of guys who know how to run the huskers and the polishers. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. Most people just walk in or call the landline if they need something. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floors because the grain can get everywhere if you aren't careful. It’s a bit of a noisy neighborhood, but nobody seems to mind the sound of the mill. We just get on with our tasks and make sure the bags are filled by the end of the shift. It’s a routine that hasn’t changed much over the decades. We like it that way and we plan on staying right here until the work is finally done.
