Shivang Community Foundation

Shivang Community Foundation is located in Rakhwan Belwan, at Uttam Gupta’s place. It’s a small village setup. To get here, you have to follow the main dirt road past the old well. The building is just a simple one-story house with a small courtyard in the middle. We do most of our work in the front room, which opens right onto the porch. Uttam is usually around to help out. We don't have many fancy things. The chairs are made of wood and can be a bit hard if you sit for too long. We have a big map pinned to the wall that’s starting to curl at the edges. Most of the days are quiet, spent drinking tea and talking about what needs doing in the village. We keep our notes in spiral notebooks. It’s not a high-tech operation at all. We have one old laptop, but the battery doesn't last long. The air here is nice and fresh, though, compared to the city. We have a few chickens that wander into the courtyard sometimes. We just shoo them out and get back to work. It’s a very relaxed environment. People from the village stop by to say hello or ask for help with small things. We like being part of the community here.
