R H Shortex Rice Mills Pvt Ltd is situated on the Main Road in Chankapur. We are part of the Jagdishpur area. It is pretty easy to find us because we are right near the Gorakhpur Airport. You can often hear the loud planes taking off and landing while we are working in the back. We are also sitting right opposite the Tata Company, so there is always plenty of activity on this road. The Main Road is usually full of traffic and it can be quite noisy with all the horns. The mill stays busy from early morning until late at night. We have our sorting machines going almost all the time. It creates a lot of vibration in the floor. Chankapur is a place where most people are busy working, and we are no different. Our building is large, but we use every single corner for storage or processing. Sometimes the trucks line up quite a way down the road waiting their turn. We do our best to keep things moving along. The weather in Gorakhpur can be very humid, which makes the work feel harder some days. We just drink plenty of water and keep at it. We do not have any big signs or fancy decorations out front. The name is just painted on the wall so people know it is us. Being near the airport means there are always people passing through. We just focus on the daily tasks.
