Purvanchal Gramin Seva Samiti

Purvanchal Gramin Seva Samiti is based out of Fatima Nagar in Padari Bazar. It’s a place where there is always someone coming through the door. We don't have a receptionist in a uniform or a polished lobby. Usually, there’s just a wooden table and some plastic chairs where people can sit while they wait to talk to us. The building is simple, and we share the space with a lot of files and community notices pinned to the walls. Padari Bazar is a lively area, and we are right in the middle of that local energy. People from the nearby villages stop by to discuss their concerns or just to see what’s happening. We spend a lot of our time listening. It’s not always easy work, and sometimes we run out of tea before the day is half over. We don’t have a big budget for fancy things, so we fix the furniture when it breaks and keep using the same old pens until they run dry. The windows look out onto the street, and we can see the market life going on outside while we work. It’s a bit messy sometimes, with papers everywhere, but we know where everything is. It’s just us doing what we can with the resources we have available. We try to keep the doors open even when things get a bit overwhelming or busy. It's important to us to stay in this spot in Fatima Nagar because it's where we are needed most.
