If you're driving along N.H.-27, you’ll see Neha Kirana & General Store right there on the Main Road in Charaiyakot. It is a village area, so life moves a bit slower here than in the cities, but the highway stays busy. We keep all the basic things people need for their homes. Since the post office is nearby, we get a mix of neighbors and folks just passing through on their way somewhere else. The dust from all the trucks comes inside sometimes, so we are constantly sweeping up. It’s just a regular little store where you can grab your groceries. We don't have any fancy machines or self-checkout aisles. It’s just us standing behind the counter. The shelves are pretty packed with whatever we can squeeze in. Sometimes it feels a bit tight when a few customers are in here at the same time. We like being on the Main Road because eventually, everyone passes by. In the evenings, people stop in to chat or pick up something they forgot for dinner. It’s a simple kind of life out here. We open up early because the road gets noisy at dawn. We don't have a big plan for the business; we just try to have what people are looking for. The sun sets right behind the shop every day, which is a nice way to end things. It’s just a local shop for local people and the travelers on the road. We try to keep the staples in stock and the place clean.
