Life Insurance Corporation

Our office is right here at House No 147 R in Rajiv Nagar Colony. It is basically a residential house that we turned into a workspace. It feels more like a home than a bank or a corporate office, which I think people around here actually like. We handle a lot of the paperwork for Life Insurance Corporation. If you walk in, you will see stacks of files on every available surface and a few old metal cupboards filled with policy documents. We spend most of our time helping people fill out forms because the language can be quite tricky sometimes. It’s a lot of sitting and talking across a desk. We don’t have any fancy posters or a polished look. There are a few ceiling fans that click a bit while they spin, and the lighting is just regular tube lights. People from the colony drop by often, sometimes just to ask a quick question or to drop off a payment. We know most of the faces that come through the door. It is a steady way to spend the day. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us making sure everything is filed correctly and that the claims are moving along. It gets a bit busy around the end of the month, but mostly it is just a quiet place where we do our jobs and try to be helpful to whoever walks in. We just keep our heads down and work through the stack of papers until it is time to close up.
