It’s a bit away from the main city buzz, which we actually prefer. It’s a more grounded place to run a business. We handle impex work, which basically means we are the middle people for a lot of different goods. Gorakhpur is our home, and we like that we can run this kind of company from here without needing a big office in Delhi or Mumbai. Our setup is pretty basic. A few desks, some chairs that have seen better days, and a lot of registers. We don’t have a website with fancy graphics or anything like that. We just rely on the work we do. People in the area know us, and word of mouth usually does the trick. Sometimes the phone doesn't stop ringing and other times it’s quiet enough to hear the birds outside. It’s a simple life running a trade business in a place like this. We don’t pretend to be anything we aren't. We’re just local people managing imports and exports from our little corner of Uttar Pradesh. It takes some patience and a lot of hard work, but we are used to it by now.
