Avadh Clinic

Our clinic is out in Kodiram, specifically in the Jhumila Bazar area of Barhalganj. If you know Gorakhpur well, you know this part can get quite dusty when the wind picks up. We are located right by the D.A.V Inter College, so we see a lot of students and teachers passing by our front door every single day. The cycle rickshaws and bikes are always zooming past on their way to the market. Inside, the clinic is quite simple. There is a small counter and a place for the doctor to sit. We don't have much in the way of decoration, just some basic furniture and some files stacked up. The morning starts with us cleaning the front area and getting the registers ready. Since we are near the college, there is usually a lot of noise in the afternoon when the classes let out. It is a good landmark for people coming from the villages nearby who might not know the exact street names. The weather in Gorakhpur can be tough, either very rainy or very dry, so we spend a lot of time just keeping the place tidy. Most of the people who come in are regulars who live within walking distance or a short bike ride. We have been in this spot for a while now, watching the bazaar grow and the college change over the seasons.
