Ashok Kirana Store

Ashok Kirana Store is tucked away in Krishna Nagar, which is part of Tahsil Nichlaul in the Maharajganj district. We are situated very close to the Nagar Panchayat, so there is always some kind of activity or people walking by our entrance. The shop is small and packed with all sorts of things on the shelves from floor to ceiling. It can get a bit tight when more than two people are inside at the same time, but we make it work. Living and working in Maharajganj means things move at a bit of a slower pace compared to the big cities, which suits us just fine. Most mornings start with sweeping the front step and greeting the neighbors who are heading out for their day. We don't really do much in the way of advertising because everybody in Krishna Nagar knows where we are anyway. The building is older and has its quirks, like a door that squeaks every time it opens, but it feels like home to us. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit by the door where the light is better and wait for it to come back. It is just a simple neighborhood store where we know most of our customers by their first names. We try to keep things organized, though it usually ends up looking a bit cluttered by midday when the deliveries arrive.
