Sree Raghuram Granite

Our place is situated at 1235 on the Gobichettipalayam Road. It’s a busy road, so there’s always something moving past the gates. We have a lot of space here for the granite, which is good because these slabs take up a lot of room. Most of the work involves lifting and shifting. We use the crane a lot because you can’t exactly pick these things up by hand. The yard gets pretty muddy when it rains, and the stone gets slippery, so we have to be careful. We aren't big on decorations or anything like that. The office is just a small room where we keep the books and take a break when the sun gets too high. We spend the better part of the day out in the open air. Sometimes local builders stop by to see what we’ve got in stock for their latest projects. We just give them a price and tell them when it can be delivered. It is straightforward work without any complications. We’ve been at this for a bit now, so we know which stones are easy to cut and which ones are going to give us trouble. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we do here on the road. The road noise doesn't bother us anymore since we're so focused. You can see the dust rising in the air when the sun hits the shop.
