Tula Dall Mill

Tula Dall Mill is right here in Shankar Ward, near the Khari Naka. If you live around this part of town, you probably know the area well. It’s a bit of an old-school neighborhood. Our mill is a busy place where we process dall every single day. There’s always a fine layer of dust on the floor and the smell of raw lentils in the air. It’s a loud environment when the machines are running, so we usually have to shout a bit to be heard over the noise of the motors. We’ve been at this location for a while, and the building shows its age, but it does the job. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy stuff for us. We just know how to run the mill and keep the machines going. Most of our day is spent unloading trucks or watching the equipment to make sure nothing gets jammed. It’s repetitive work, but it’s important. When the Khari Naka gets crowded, it can be a bit of a headache for the truck drivers, but we manage. We have a few guys working here who have been with us for years. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the bags are filled correctly. It’s a local operation, nothing more and nothing less.
