Shilpi Sakhi Swayamsahayata Samuha Shg

Shilpi Sakhi Swayamsahayata Samuha Shg is located in Kavalewada, right in the Goregaon area. We are just a bunch of local women from the neighborhood who wanted to be productive. Life stays busy here with family and house work, but we always make sure to find time for our group. At first, we just talked about saving a few rupees every week. Now we try to come up with small things we can make or sell right here in the village. The way we work is very simple. There isn't any boss or manager telling us what to do; we just talk and decide things as a group. Sometimes our meetings go on for a long time because everyone wants to say something. We eventually figure it out, though. Using what we have nearby helps us keep our costs down. Being self-sufficient is really the main thing for us. Since we started, we’ve learned a lot about how to handle money and work together without too much trouble. Not every week is easy, especially when there isn't much work to do. But since we are all friends, we look out for each other. That is just how we do things in Kavalewada. We are just trying to make a small difference in our own lives and for our families. We hope to keep going like this for as long as we can. It’s not about becoming rich, it's just about having something that is ours. We are proud of what we have built here together.
