Shantaram Hospital

Shantaram Hospital is situated out on Nagbhid Road in the Shesh Nagar area. It’s a bit further out than some of the other places in town, which means we have a little more space. The building is a single-story structure with a small yard in front where people sometimes park their bikes or scooters. It’s a fairly quiet neighborhood, which is nice for the patients who are staying with us. We have a few different wards and a small office for the administration stuff. The building is older, so the windows are those heavy metal ones that can be a bit hard to open. We keep the place clean, but it has that lived-in feel of a building that’s been around for twenty years. There’s a tea stall just down the road that most of the staff goes to during their breaks. On Nagbhid Road, you get a lot of people coming in from the nearby villages as well as Shesh Nagar. We don't have a big fancy lobby, just a desk and some chairs for the families. The lighting is a bit dim in the hallways, but we’re used to it. We just go about our business every day, seeing whoever comes through the door. It’s a steady pace, rarely too crazy but never really empty either. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything, still mostly doing things by hand in big ledgers. It’s just a solid, local hospital for this side of town.
