Podar International School

Our school is out on Tiroda Road, in a spot called Mouza Hiwara. It’s a bit away from the main center of Gondia, so it’s quieter than you might expect. The drive out here is mostly through open spaces and some trees. We have a decent-sized patch of land where the building stands. It’s a fairly new place compared to some others, but it already feels broken in. The classrooms are bright because of the big windows, but we have to keep them closed when the dust starts blowing off the road. We spend our mornings watching the yellow buses pull in and the kids jumping out. There isn’t much around us, just a few houses and some fields, so it feels quite peaceful during the lesson hours. We have a small room for the teachers where the fan always makes a clicking sound. Our daily routine involves a lot of walking back and forth across the yard. We aren't big on fancy speeches or corporate talk. We just focus on getting through the day’s schedule and making sure everyone is where they should be. The heat in Gondia can be quite something in May, so we’re always checking the water tanks. It’s a straightforward way of living and working. When the final bell rings, the whole place empties out fast, and it’s just us and the security guard left until the next morning. It is just another day at work for us out here on Tiroda Road.
