Noori Rice Mill

Noori Rice Mill is over at Plot No. A25 in the MIDC area of Chandrapur. It’s an industrial part of town, so there are factories and workshops all around us. The air always smells a bit like dry husks and machinery oil. We have a decent-sized plot here which gives us room for the trucks to turn around. That was always a problem at our old place. The mill itself is a big shed with high ceilings. It gets quite loud when all the rollers are spinning at once. We spend a lot of time just maintaining the equipment so it doesn't break down in the middle of a big batch. Chandrapur is known for being one of the hottest places, so the summers are really tough on the guys working the floor. We try to get the heavy work done before the midday heat hits. Most of our day is spent watching the grain come in and the processed rice go out. There is a small office in the corner where we keep the papers, but mostly we are out on the floor. It is a straightforward business. We don't have any fancy logos or big advertisements. Most people who need us already know where Plot A25 is. We just focus on getting the milling done and keeping the bags stacked neatly in the warehouse. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and long hours, but it is what we know how to do. We just keep going.
