Shakti Oil Mill

Our mill is located at Plot No. 47, right near the 3 Khuniya area. It’s an old-fashioned kind of place where we process seeds to make oil. The smell of the seeds and the oil is something you get used to pretty quickly when you work here. Shakti Oil Mill has been around for a bit, and we use some pretty traditional methods to get the job done. The machines we have are loud and they take up a lot of space in the shed. We spend most of our time cleaning the seeds and making sure the presses are running right. It’s a messy job and our clothes usually end up smelling like oil by the end of the day. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. People just know where we are and they come to us when they need oil. We get a lot of local farmers bringing their crops in during the harvest season, so it gets very busy then. The rest of the year is a bit more steady. We have a small crew and we all pitch in with whatever needs doing, whether it’s moving sacks or fixing a leak in one of the pipes. It’s not a fancy setup but it works for us. We just focus on the seeds and the oil every day. It is simple work for simple people.
