Chandan Books

Chandan Books is located on Lucknow Road in the Paraspur area. We are right near the Mahakavi Tulsidas Mahavidyalaya, which is a big college that brings a lot of students into our shop. Because of the location, we focus a lot on what the students need, like textbooks and notebooks. The shop is quite basic and doesn't have any fancy decorations. We have simple shelves made of wood and metal, and they are usually packed with stock. It is a small space, so it can get a bit crowded during the start of a new semester. It is mostly just a family affair, with me and my relatives taking turns to mind the shop. Lucknow Road is a major route, so there is always something going on outside our door. We don't do any flashy advertising or anything like that. We just have a simple sign outside so people know we are here. The building is just a regular shopfront, and it can get a bit warm in the summer months. We don't mind the heat too much; we just keep the fans going and keep working. We have built up a good relationship with the local community in Paraspur over the years. People know they can find us here if they need something for their studies or just something to read. We aren't trying to be anything more than a local bookshop. It is simple, honest work that keeps us connected to the neighborhood.
