Lakshman Prasad Sahu

I’ve been staying at House No. 43 in Kanaighat for a long time now. It is a quiet village in Golaghat district, right near the NRL area. If you live around here, you know the smell of the refinery and how the roads get during the monsoon months. We mostly stick to our own work and try to keep things running. It isn’t a fancy place, just a regular house where we handle our business. Some days are slow and we just sit outside when the weather is nice. Other times, things get a bit more hectic with people coming and going from the main road. The post office is right here in Kanaighat, so that makes it easier for mail to reach us. We have lived in this part of Assam for many years. It is home. My name is on the gate, and most neighbors know where to find us if they need anything. We don’t have a big team or anything, just us doing what needs to be done. Sometimes the power goes out, but that is just part of living in this area. We usually start early in the morning before it gets too hot. It is just a basic setup. We aren’t trying to be the biggest or anything like that. We just focus on our day-to-day work here in Golaghat. It’s a simple life really, and we prefer it that way. Everyone knows each other in this small village.
