You can find us at 17, R.N. Mukherjee Road. It’s one of those old buildings with the high ceilings and the thick walls that stay cool even when it’s hot outside. Jatinga Tea Ltd. has been operating from here for a long time. We aren’t a modern, high-tech company. We still use a lot of paper and the old ways of doing things because they work for us. Our days are spent dealing with tea gardens and the auction houses. We look at a lot of samples—little piles of dried leaves on white plates. It’s a quiet kind of business. We don't have loud advertisements or a big marketing budget. We just rely on the tea we handle. The staff here is like family; most of them have been sitting at the same desks for twenty years. We know the tea business inside and out. Sometimes the market is tough and the prices aren't great, but we’ve seen it all before. We don't get too worried about the ups and downs. R.N. Mukherjee Road is always busy with cars and people, but once you step inside our office, things slow down. We just want to keep the business going and make sure the tea we sell is something we can be proud of. It’s a solid, old-fashioned way of working, and we like the pace of it.
