Handweaves Producer Company Limited

Our small operation is located at Hiren Das’s house, right near the LPG godown in Golaghat. It’s on the road that leads to the Commerce College, specifically in Ward No 9, Chandmari. If you’re driving by, you’ll probably see the college students walking up and down the road all day. We are Handweaves Producer Company Limited, and we spend most of our time at the looms. It’s a noisy place when everything is going at once, but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space where we can get the weaving done. Hiren Das has been kind enough to let us set up here. We don’t have fancy signs or a big reception area. Most of the people working here live nearby in Golaghat, so it’s a local crowd. We focus on the hand weaving because that’s what we know how to do. Some days the humidity makes the yarn act up, which can be frustrating, but we just deal with it. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We don't spend money on big ads or trying to sound important. We just want to make sure the fabric is decent and the work keeps coming in. It’s a simple setup, and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and work on the next piece of cloth.
