Ayurved Hospital

This is the Ayurved Hospital located in District Dhaod. Being in a district like this, we serve a lot of people from the surrounding villages and the town itself. It’s a big responsibility, but we just take it one day at a time. The hospital building is one of the older structures in the area. It has high ceilings and wide hallways which help keep things cool during the hot months. We have a small staff of people who have mostly lived in Dhaod their whole lives. Every morning starts with a lot of cleaning because the dust from the roads always finds its way inside. We have beds for people who need to stay over and a small area where we prepare things. It’s not like the fancy hospitals you might find in the big cities. We don’t have digital screens everywhere. Instead, we have paper files and a lot of talking. People come from quite far away sometimes, traveling by bus or tractor to get here. We see a lot of the same families over the generations. It’s a steady kind of work. The courtyard in the middle of the building is where people sit and wait their turn. We try to make everyone feel welcome, but we don't put on an act or use fancy words. It’s just how we are. Working here in Dhaod feels like we are part of the landscape. We just keep the doors open for anyone who needs us.
