We are set up near the Lunawada Gandhi Nagar Highway in Mehsagar district. It is a good spot because the trucks can pull right off the road without much trouble. We spend our days making all kinds of cement articles. It might be blocks or pipes or those little decorative pieces for gardens. We use the molds and let them set in the sun. It is a lot of heavy lifting and your back definitely feels it by the end of the day. The highway is always noisy with cars zooming by, but we just get used to it. We do not have a big fancy office, just a small shed where we keep the tools and take our lunch breaks. It is mostly just a few of us doing the mixing and pouring. Sometimes the mix is not just right and we have to start over, which is a pain. We do not do much advertising at all. People just see our stacks of cement stuff from the highway and stop their cars to ask about prices. It is a very simple way of doing things. We try to keep a decent variety of items ready so there is something for everyone. The sun gets really hot out here in Taluka Lunawada, so we start early to beat the heat. It is just steady, honest work that we have done for a long time.
