Our office is tucked away in the Amarvan Building in Aquem, Margao. We are on the second floor, Flat S/3. The address is actually care of Mrs. Shaila Damodar Mauzo. It’s more of a residential building than a commercial one, so it has a very different feel than a branch in a mall. There are families living above and below us. The stairs are narrow and the paint is peeling in a few spots in the hallway. Inside, the space is divided up into a few working areas. We have a lot of binders and folders stacked on the desks. The view from the window is mostly other buildings and some palm trees in the distance. It gets very quiet during the afternoon heat. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background to break the silence. The kitchen area is tiny, just enough for a kettle and some cups. We have to be careful with the noise so we don't bother the neighbors too much. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but it’s a peaceful spot once you get here. We don't have any big glass partitions or shiny counters. It is just a flat where we manage the bank’s business for this area. It feels a bit more personal working from a place like this. We just keep things moving along every day.
