We are located on the 3rd floor of the Hamid Market building, which is part of the New Market area on Pancharatna Road in Goalpara. It’s quite a climb up those stairs every morning, but it gives us a good view of the market below. The office is right in the middle of all the trading and shopping noise, which makes it feel very alive. We share the space with a lot of boxes and old ledgers that have been piling up over time. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is. Our desks are pushed up against the windows so we can get some natural light while we work on the accounts. Nizamuddin Ahmed is the name on the lease, and we’ve been in this spot for a good while now. People come up to see us after they’ve done their shopping downstairs. It’s a very casual environment where we talk to everyone like they are our neighbors, because most of them are. We don't have any fancy software to do everything for us, so there is a lot of manual writing and calculating. Sometimes we get the numbers wrong and have to start over, but that’s just how it goes. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We are just a local office in Goalpara, working through the daily tasks and drinking way too much tea. The fans help keep us cool during those really humid afternoons.
