We are tucked away in Garuchatka village, specifically in the Lalghat area. If you’re coming from Goalpara, you’d head toward Tiplai and then find us at Dipak Das’s place. It’s a quiet spot, not like the big city offices you see on TV. We have been here in this part of Goalpara for a good bit now. Mostly, it's just the sound of the birds and the occasional motorbike passing through. Debjani Finance Nidhi Limited is just the name on the papers, but to the neighbors, we are just the folks at Lalghat. We deal with people from the village and nearby areas like Dhupdhara. It’s a long way for some, but they know the path. The office is pretty basic, just some desks and old cupboards for the papers. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations. We spend our mornings checking the books and our afternoons talking to people who drop in. It’s a slow pace, but that’s how we like it around here. The weather can be tough sometimes, especially when it rains hard and the roads get messy with all the mud. But we stay open as much as we can because people depend on us being there. It’s important to be there when someone comes by after walking a long way from a different village. We aren't trying to change the world, just doing our part in Garuchatka for the people we know. That’s what we are all about. Sometimes we just sit and talk about the crops or the local news while we work on the papers.
