Alam Brothers Industries

Alam Brothers Industries is situated in Maheripar, right near the Islamic Mission School. You can hear the kids playing during their breaks, which lets us know what time of day it is without even looking at a clock. We are a small outfit, just the brothers and a few other hands helping out with the daily production. The building we work in is older, with a lot of history in the walls and a roof that we have to patch up every now and then. We don't use any high-tech gadgets to run things; it’s mostly just hard work and knowing the trade. There is always a lot of noise from the machinery, so we have to shout sometimes to be heard. We’ve lived in this area all our lives, and the neighbors are all familiar faces. When someone needs something done, they just walk in and talk to one of us directly. We don’t have a secretary or a waiting room. Usually, you’ll find us with grease or dust on our clothes, right in the middle of the work. It’s an honest way to spend the day, and we take it one order at a time. The school being so close means we have to be careful when the buses are arriving in the afternoon. We just keep our heads down and keep the machines running until it's time to go home to our families.
