The Wipro BPO site out here in Dabhal is quite a journey for most of us who work here. It is located at Post Quirlepal, which is a bit of a remote spot in Goa compared to the touristy beaches. We are surrounded by a lot of greenery, which is nice when you step out for a break, but the commute can be a real pain during the monsoons. Inside, it’s a world of headsets and computer screens. We spend our shifts talking to people from all over, usually solving problems or answering questions for hours on end. It is a lot of sitting and typing. The office stays cool with the AC, which is a relief from the outside heat. We have our little routines, like who goes to the canteen first or who always has the extra pens. It’s a big company, sure, but our little corner in Dabhal feels like its own small world. Some of us work the night shifts, so we see the sun coming up over the trees when we finally head home. There’s always a bit of a buzz in the room, with dozens of voices going at once. We don't have much time for fancy speeches; we just focus on meeting the targets and making sure the calls are handled properly. It’s a busy life, filled with data and coffee and the hum of the servers in the background.
