Software Developer

Working as a software developer in Bicholim, Goa, is quite different from working in a big city like Bangalore or Mumbai. Bicholim is a quieter part of the state, away from the main tourist beaches. My workspace is basic and straightforward. It’s mostly just me and a couple of others handling development projects. We don't have a big fancy office name, just Software Developer on the door. The pace of life here is a bit more relaxed, which is good for thinking through complex coding problems. We don't have fancy perks or a cafeteria. We usually just go out to a local place for fish curry and rice at lunch. The office is just a room with some sturdy desks and good internet, which is all you really need. Sometimes the power goes out during the monsoon, and we just have to wait it out or work off the laptop batteries for a while. It’s not a high-pressure environment with people shouting about deadlines. We just set our goals and work through them steadily. We like the fact that we can do high-tech work while living in a place that still feels like a village. It’s a quiet way to make a living, and it suits us just fine. We just focus on the screen and the code until the sun sets over the hills.
