The Leela Goa

The Leela Goa is situated right here in India, taking up a good stretch of land. When you spend every day here, you stop noticing the postcards and start noticing the actual work that goes into keeping a place like this running. It is a very large property. We spend a lot of time walking between the different areas. The air is always thick with that salt smell from the sea, and the humidity is something you just learn to live with. It isn't all about the views for us; it’s about making sure the paths are clear and the buildings are kept up. We have a lot of different departments tucked away in corners you wouldn't see unless you worked here. The sun is very bright most of the year, so we are always looking for a bit of shade during our breaks. It is a busy place, with people moving around constantly. We have our own internal roads and a lot of greenery that needs constant attention. The sounds of the birds and the water are always in the background, but so is the sound of our staff going about their tasks. We don't really have a standard office building; it’s more of a collection of spaces spread out. It takes a lot of effort to keep everything in order across such a big area. We just focus on the day-to-day things, like maintenance and logistics, making sure everything is where it should be.
