Our place is the Santa Monica Works located out in Corlim. It’s a bit of a different setup because we deal with biological things, so there are labs and special rooms that most people don't see. The area around Corlim is a bit more industrial but still has some greenery around. Inside the building, things are kept pretty clean because they have to be for the work we do. We spend a lot of time in our lab coats looking at samples and writing down notes. It’s a quiet kind of work that requires a lot of patience. Sometimes it feels like we are in our own little world out here at Santa Monica Works. We have a canteen where everyone meets up for a break, and that’s usually the loudest part of the day. The labs have a lot of specialized equipment that makes some strange noises now and then. We aren't much for fancy offices; we mostly care about the benches and the cooling systems. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here for some of us, but the space is worth it. We've got a small garden area outside where some of the research plants are kept. It’s a practical, hardworking atmosphere where everyone is focused on their own corner of science. We’ve been operating from this Corlim site for quite a while now and the security gate guards know us all by name.
