This place is right by Arossim Beach in Cansualium. We work in the South Goa area, which is a bit slower than the north. My name is Tara and I help lead the housekeeping team here. Our days are mostly spent making sure the sand stays out of the rooms, which is a constant battle when you are this close to the beach. We carry around a lot of fresh towels and linens. The sun is very strong here, and you can always smell the salt in the air. It’s a big resort, so we do a lot of walking from one wing to another. Sometimes it gets really busy during the holidays, and we are all running around trying to keep up with the laundry and the guest requests. The gardens are nice, but they take a lot of watering to keep them green. We don't really think of it as a fancy spa while we are working; to us, it’s just a lot of floors to scrub and windows to wipe. We have a good group of people in the HK department who have been here a long time. We know which rooms have the best views and which ones get the morning sun. After our shift, we sometimes just sit near the back and watch the sunset for a minute before heading home. It’s a lot of physical work, and our backs often ache by the end of the day. But the beach is right there.
