We are based out at Plot Nos 12 to 18 in the GIDC Industrial Estate in Kakoda. It’s a fairly large space because we need the room for all the tanks and storage. Being in a GIDC area means we are surrounded by other factories, so there’s always a lot of activity on the roads. We deal with chemicals, which means we have to be quite careful about how we store things and move them around. The staff here knows the routine well. We have some people who have been with us since the early days when we only had one plot. Now we’ve expanded a bit, but the way we work hasn't changed much. It’s mostly about checking the mixtures and making sure the drums are sealed properly. The weather in Kakoda can get really humid, which makes the work a bit tiring in the summers, but we have enough fans going to keep the air moving. We don't have a glossy brochure or a team of salesmen in suits. Usually, if someone needs something, they just call the office and talk to one of us directly. We keep a ledger for all the incoming and outgoing loads. It’s a lot of paperwork, but it’s necessary in this line of work. The facility is practical and built for function, not for looks. We just show up, do the processing, and make sure the trucks are loaded correctly before they head out.
