If you head over to Candolim-Bardez in Goa, you’ll find us at Aguada Homes. Our spot is Flat No. A-1, and it’s a pretty decent place to work from considering how close we are to the coast. Working for Indian Hotel Company Limited here isn’t always about lounging by the beach, though. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff that goes into keeping things running smoothly for the guests who come to visit this part of Goa. We handle a lot of the administrative side and coordination from this office. It’s a small team, and we all kind of pitch in on whatever needs doing that day. Sometimes it’s checking on supplies, other times it’s dealing with paperwork for the local authorities. The salt air usually finds its way into the office even if we keep the windows shut. It’s a practical setup, nothing like the grand lobbies you see in the actual hotels. We like the quiet of the residential complex because it lets us focus on the details that people might miss. Being in Candolim means we are right in the thick of the tourist season, so things get really hectic from November through February. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the back-end operations are solid so the front-end looks perfect. It’s just regular folks doing their jobs in a beautiful part of the country.
