If you head towards Mapusa, you’ll find us at the Pharmaceutical Complex in Karaswada. Geno Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has been a fixture here for quite some years. It’s an industrial area, so don’t expect anything too pretty. It’s all about function here. We have big halls for the machines and storage areas for the supplies. My job involves a lot of walking back and forth between the office and the floor. It keeps me on my toes. We deal with a lot of different products. Every day there’s a new schedule to follow. We have to be strict about the rules because that’s just how this industry is. It’s not like a regular office where you can be relaxed about things. The commute from the main part of Mapusa isn't too bad, but the dust in the industrial estate can be a bit much sometimes. We just get on with it. We aren't trying to sound like a huge multinational, even though we have a lot of work. We’re just a group of people in Goa making sure things get made right. We have our tea breaks and our small talk, but mostly we are focused on the output. It’s practical, hard work. We’ve seen the complex grow over the years, and we’ve grown with it. It’s just how it is. Nothing fancy, just the daily effort of a lot of local workers.
