S.K Traders

Down in Suriya, on the Rajdhanwar Road, you will find S.K Traders. We are located very close to the Shiv Mandir, so we can hear the bells ringing during the morning and evening prayers. It is a quiet kind of place in Giridih district, but the road out front stays busy with tractors and motorcycles. Our shop is old, with thick walls that keep it somewhat cool in the summer. We have a lot of different things stored here, from construction supplies to smaller items for the home. The bags of cement and stacks of wood take up most of the floor space. We have to be careful where we walk so we don't trip over anything. The post office is nearby too, so we see the postman every day when he makes his rounds. We use a lot of old ledgers to keep track of our sales, and the pages are yellowed at the edges. Sometimes we sit outside on a wooden bench when the shop is empty. The dust from Rajdhanwar Road covers everything if we don't wipe it down daily. We know most of the families in Suriya because they have been coming here for years. It isn't a modern business with computers and air conditioning. We just do things the old way, weighing items by hand and talking to every person who comes through the door. It’s a steady life and we just keep the shop open for the locals.
