Nirmalabir Development Foundation

We are located in Banni village, specifically at House Number 17 in Ward Number 12. This is part of the Panch-Kadipur area in Nagra block. It’s quite a distance from the bigger cities, so it’s very peaceful around here. Nirmalabir Development Foundation is run right out of the village. We don't have a paved road right to the doorstep, so you have to walk a bit through the Tola to find us. The office is really just a simple room with a solid roof and a few benches. We get started early in the morning when the air is still cool. There are a lot of farmers around here, so our schedule usually follows the local rhythm of the village. People drop by after they finish in the fields, and we sit and talk about whatever is going on. It’s not the kind of place where people wear suits or anything like that. We just wear our everyday clothes and get to work. Sometimes the internet is a bit slow, so we do a lot of things by hand in our notebooks. It can be a bit dusty in the dry season, but we keep the place swept up as best as we can. Being in Nagra block means we are pretty connected to the local families here. It’s a very community-focused way of living, and we’re just happy to have a space where we can gather and do our work.
