Minerals Import & Export Corporation

Our place is at No. 18 A on Tundi Road, specifically in the Darji Mohalla area. We go by Minerals Import & Export Corporation, though most people just know us as the guys near the corner. Dealing with minerals means things get a bit heavy. We move a lot of crates around the warehouse. It’s not a quiet job. You hear the sounds of the trucks and the dragging of boxes all day long. The P.O. Box 42 gets a lot of our paperwork, but the real work happens right here on the floor. Darji Mohalla is a busy neighborhood, so there is always something happening outside. Sometimes we have to move our trucks quickly because the street gets narrow and blocked. Inside, we have shelves stacked with different samples. We try to keep it organized, but when three shipments come in at once, things get a bit messy for a while. It’s just the way it goes here. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy office. We have a desk with a wobbly leg and some chairs that have seen better days. We focus on the minerals and getting them where they need to go. It’s a practical way to spend the day. We’ve been at this for years, and we know the rhythms of the road and the neighborhood pretty well by now. We usually have a bit of tea around three o'clock to keep us going until the evening.
