Jain Sahity Gift & Metal

Jain Sahity Gift & Metal is located in Village Khejwali, specifically at 5 Mandir Madhuban in Shikharji. We are right across from the Jhaj Mandir, which means we see a lot of pilgrims passing by every day. The shop is full of metal items and books that people look for when they come to this part of Giridih. It is a quiet, spiritual sort of place, though it gets very busy during the festival seasons. We keep the metal idols polished, but the dust from the road always finds its way back onto them. The view of the mountains from the village is something we never get tired of looking at. We have a small counter where we wrap up gifts in brown paper and string. It is not a modern store with bright lights; we prefer the softer atmosphere that fits the Madhuban area. Sometimes people just stop in to ask for directions or to take a break from their walk. We have been here for a good while and have seen the village change, but the core of what we do stays the same. The shop feels old and lived-in, with wooden floors that creak a bit when you walk over them. It is just us here, managing the stock and talking to the visitors, and we usually keep the doors open as long as there is light outside.
