Our mill is located right in the heart of Gudari Bazar. If you walk past Parsuram Katra and head toward Shaheed Park, you’ll find us easily. Being near the Durgamata Mandir means we hear the temple bells throughout the day, which is a nice background to the loud humming of our machines. Bhrigu Ji Rice Dal Mill has been part of this market for some time. We handle both rice and different kinds of dal here. The space is often filled with sacks and the fine dust that comes from milling grains. It’s a crowded area, especially during the morning hours when everyone is out doing their shopping. Sometimes it’s hard to get a vehicle through the lanes because the bazaar gets so packed. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us making sure the pulses are split right and the rice is sorted. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, like when it rains and we have to worry about keeping everything dry in the warehouse. We spend a lot of time talking to the farmers who bring their produce and the small shopkeepers who buy from us. It's a lot of manual labor, carrying heavy bags and monitoring the processors. The floor is usually covered in husks by the end of the shift. We just stay focused on the tasks at hand, making sure the work gets done before the market closes for the evening. It’s a busy, noisy, but honest way to spend the day.
