Madhuram Store

Madhuram Store is located right on Somnath Temple Road in Kodinar. We are quite close to the Dena Bank, which is handy for people running errands. Being on the road that leads to the temple means we see a lot of people passing by, especially during the festival times or on weekends. The dust from the road settles on everything, so I am constantly wiping down the glass jars and the counter. It is a never-ending task, honestly. We sell a bit of everything that a household might need in a pinch. The shop is not very large, so we have to stack things pretty high. Sometimes I worry a stack of biscuit packets might fall over if someone brushes against them. It is just me and sometimes a helper during the busy hours. The floor is made of old stone and stays somewhat cool even when it is hot outside. Kodinar is a busy place, and the district vibe is always moving. We do not have a computer system or anything like that. We just write things down in a notebook and use a simple calculator. It works for us. People come in, they chat for a minute about the weather or the local news, and then they go on their way. It is a good way to live, being part of the community here near the bank and the temple. We just do our bit every day.
