Natural Soft Drinks

If you're driving down the Vettavavalam Main Road in Aavur, you’ll probably pass by us at number 54. Natural Soft Drinks is just a small place on the side of the road. It gets incredibly dusty because of all the trucks and buses that go flying past all day long. I spend a lot of time just sweeping the front area to keep the dirt from coming inside. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoon, so it gets quite warm inside despite the coolers. We don’t have a big team or anything, just a couple of us who take turns sitting out front and waiting for customers. Most people who stop are just passing through Aavur and need a quick break. I’ve lived in this area my whole life, so I know most of the people who walk by. The crates are stacked up in the back, and sometimes the delivery truck is late because of the traffic on the main road, which can be frustrating. We don't have any big signs or bright lights, just the basic stuff you need to run a shop. Sometimes the fridge makes a loud humming sound that bothers me when I'm trying to think, but it keeps everything cold, so I can't complain too much. It’s a simple way to make a living, right here on the edge of the road.
