Shree Bricks

You can find us right on the N.H.-1 main road, near the post office in Ghraunda. We are in the Karnal district, and being on the highway means there is always a lot of noise and dust. Shree Bricks is basically a yard full of stacks and a small shed where we keep the records. It’s not the cleanest place to work, but bricks are dirty business. We spend our days watching the trucks go by and waiting for the next load to be ready. The highway is busy all day and night, so we’re never really in a quiet spot. We’ve been here for years, and the locals in Ghraunda know us pretty well. We don't do much in the way of marketing. Usually, people just see the stacks from the road and pull over. We spend a lot of time outside, regardless of if it’s raining or if the sun is baking the ground. It’s a tough life, but it’s what we’ve got. We don't have a fancy mission statement or any corporate goals. We just want to make enough bricks to fill the orders we have. Sometimes the clay isn't right, or the fire goes out, and we have to start over. That’s just part of the job. We don’t complain much. We just keep moving the bricks and talking to the drivers who stop by. Most of the time, we’re just hoping the rain stays away so we can get the baking finished on time.
