Welco Shoes

Welco Shoes is our little shop at 578 Turab Nagar. If you know the Turab Nagar area, you know how busy it gets, especially in the evenings. We have been sitting in this same spot for quite some time now. The shop is filled with all kinds of footwear piled up high on the walls. We do not have much extra storage space, so everything we have is usually out where people can see it. It is a bit of a squeeze when the festive season starts. Everyone is looking for new sandals or boots. I usually stand near the door to greet people as they walk in from the street. The noise from the market is constant, but we have grown to like the energy. We are not trying to be the biggest store around. We just want to provide something useful to the people who live in the neighborhood. Some customers have been coming to us since they were little kids. Now they bring their own children in to get fitted. It makes us feel a bit old but happy to see them. We deal with various suppliers to keep the variety up. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck in the narrow lanes of Turab Nagar. We have to carry the boxes the rest of the way by hand. It is hard work, but it keeps us moving. (247 words)
