Tiranga Kirana Store

Tiranga Kirana Store is tucked away in the Shyampak Extension in Sahibabad. We are at B-20, right in the middle of where people live. It’s a typical neighborhood store where you can find the basic stuff for your kitchen. We have sacks of rice and lentils sitting near the entrance. The shelves are filled with oils, spices, and soaps. It’s not very big, so things are stacked pretty high. I usually spend the morning checking what we sold the day before so I can call the supplier. Sahibabad is a busy place and Ghaziabad traffic is always something to deal with. Most of our customers are just the families who live in the blocks nearby. They send their kids over for a packet of salt or some matches. We know most of them by name. The floor is concrete and we sweep it out a few times a day. We don't have any air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that makes a bit of noise. It’s a simple way to earn a living. We open early and close late because that’s when people need things. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use a torch to find things in the back. It’s just how it goes here. We don’t do any advertising. People just know we are here. We have everything from tea leaves to washing powder. It's enough to keep us going every single day.
