Shiv Om Creation

Our shop is No. 122 in the Old Gandhi Nagar Market. It’s an old building, and you can tell by the way the stairs creak and the walls have those little cracks in the plaster. Shiv Om Creation is where we handle all our fabric and design work. The market is always busy, especially on the weekends. We have rolls of cloth stacked up in every corner. Sometimes it feels like the fabric is going to fall over on us. We have one small window that looks out onto the back alley, but there isn't much to see there. Most of our day is spent measuring and cutting. The scissors are always getting lost under piles of thread and scraps. We use those long wooden rulers that have been smoothed down by years of use. It’s not a polished place. The floor is concrete and the paint is peeling a bit near the ceiling. We have a small stove in the back to make tea. It’s just a regular market shop. We don't try to be anything we aren't. People come to us because they know we are here at number 122. We talk to the other shopkeepers a lot. It’s like a little community in this part of the market. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out, without much trouble.
