Satyam Transport Organisation. Our office sits right near the Delhi UP border, not too far from the Apsara Cinema Complex. It’s a dusty spot because of all the trucks moving in and out of the city at all hours. We have a small room where we keep the ledgers and the phones. It gets loud with the horns honking outside and the drivers shouting to each other. We spend a lot of time waiting for trucks to arrive or checking on where a load is stuck. The walls are covered with old calendars and maps that have seen better days. There is always a pot of tea going because someone is always coming in from a long trip needing a break. We handle a lot of paperwork, mostly transit slips and fuel receipts that end up in big piles on the desks. The furniture is old and a bit rickety, but it serves its purpose. On rainy days, the ground outside gets real muddy, and people track it all into the office. We don't have a fancy waiting area or anything like that. People just stand around or sit on the edge of the desk while we sort out their papers. It’s a lot of long nights and early mornings keeping track of everything moving on the road. The location is convenient for the routes, even if it’s a bit noisy and busy all the time.
