Down in the Raispur area of Ghaziabad is where we have our shop, Rahul Garnel Store. It’s just a small neighborhood spot tucked away from the main noise. We carry the usual items like different types of lentils, rice, and cleaning supplies that people use daily. The street outside can be very dusty, so a lot of our time is spent just cleaning off the plastic packets and glass jars. It feels like a job that never really ends. During the quiet hours in the middle of the afternoon, we usually sit on a small wooden stool behind the counter. Most of the people in Raispur are familiar faces to us. While we are weighing out sugar or packing up some tea, we hear all about the local news, like weddings or how the local kids are doing in their exams. This shop is more than just a place to buy things; it’s a part of how the neighborhood runs every day. The lighting inside is a bit dim, but we know where everything is kept. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights, just stacks of boxes and things hanging from hooks on the ceiling to save some space. If the power goes out, which happens sometimes in Ghaziabad, we just use a torch to help people find what they need. It’s a steady way to live, keeping the shop open and making sure the local pantries stay full. We are just here every day doing our thing.
