Our office for Pride Grain Agro Marketing Pvt. Ltd. is over in Modi Nagar, right near the Suman Cinema Hall. If you stand outside our door, you can usually hear the muffled sound of movie music when a big show is playing. It is a busy part of town with a lot of people moving back and forth. Inside, we have mostly stacks of ledgers and samples of whatever grains are coming through that week. The air always has a faint, earthy smell to it, which is expected in this line of work. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who walk in from the nearby markets. The furniture is old and the fans rattle a bit when they are on high speed, but they keep the air moving during those humid summer months. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Just a few desks and a place to sit if you are waiting. Most of our day is spent tracking shipments or checking the quality of what comes in. It is practical work. Sometimes the traffic near the cinema makes it hard to park, so we usually just walk or use the side lanes. It is a regular workplace where we try to keep things moving. We know the shopkeepers around here and we all pretty much look out for each other.
