Prem Shankar Ice Cream

Our shop is right by the Surya Nagar Phatak. If you know the railway crossing, then you know exactly where Prem Shankar Ice Cream is located. It can be a noisy place with the trains going past, but we have gotten used to the sound of the whistles and the gates closing. It actually brings a lot of people our way while they wait for the tracks to clear. We have been here for years. The building is a bit old, and the paint might be peeling in a few spots, but it works for us. We spend our days keeping the freezers full and the floor swept. It is a lot of work to keep things running when it gets really busy around the crossing. Sometimes it feels like everyone in Surya Nagar stops by at the same time. We don't have a big staff, so we stay on our feet most of the day. My family helps out quite a bit too. It’s a real local operation. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just sell ice cream to the people who live around here or those just passing through the Phatak. The trains keep their schedule, and we keep ours. It’s a steady way to live. We like the community here. Even with the noise, it feels like home to us. It gets hot by the tracks, so keeping the machines running is our biggest priority every single day.
