Our place, Praveen Reinforced Plastic, is located at D-111 on B.S. Road in the industrial area. It’s a standard industrial plot, nothing too special to look at from the outside. Inside, though, it’s always a hive of activity. Working with reinforced plastics means there’s always a specific scent in the air—that resin smell that you never really get out of your clothes. We’ve got the molds and the fiberglass mats spread out across the tables most days. It’s a bit of a process to get everything set right, and it takes a lot of patience. The workshop gets quite warm, especially when the sun is hitting the roof, so we try to get the heavy work done before the midday heat really sets in. We’re not a huge operation, just a group of people who know how to handle these materials. The office is just a desk in the corner with a computer that’s seen better days and a phone that rings more often than we’d like. We spend a lot of time checking the finishes on the parts we make. It’s not glamorous, but it keeps us busy. We take our breaks when we can, usually sitting on some crates outside to get a bit of fresh air. It’s just the way it goes here, day in and day out, making sure the orders are ready and the machines are clean enough to run tomorrow.
